# How can I use existing previous Translation Memory in Transifex?

I have some translations that we did before signing up for Transifex. Can I use them to get more leverage from Translation Memory?

If you worked with a translation agency before, there is a high chance that they have your previous translations stored in the .tmx format. You can request the .tmx file from them and upload it to Transifex - this will be your first TM, that Transifex will further build on, as you have more and more translations done.
If you don’t have a .tmx file but have the source file and corresponding translation files, you could potentially upload them to Transifex - and this will be your foundation TM as well.
