# Using .tx/config with GitHub integration

The integration configuration for GitHub in Transifex doesn’t allow us to select a config file for [GitHub - TeamAmaze/AmazeFileManager: Material design file manager for Android](https://github.com/TeamAmaze/AmazeFileManager) which might mean that the integration will stop working when we delete the (old) yaml file. We have to provide multiple files with different directory mappings (one for Fastlane and another for Android), so we must use the .tx/config file.

We have already created the .tx/config. How should we test and implement the use of .tx/config with automatic pulling and PR creation?

I am Antonis from the Transifex Customer Success Team.

What you’re mentioning in your post is actually two different Transifex tools.

1. The .tx/config is utilized by the [Transifex CLI](https://developers.transifex.com/docs/cli). This tool enables you to push and pull files between your local environment and Transifex. It’s not necessarily related to GitHub, but you can use it alongside it.
2. The transifex.yaml is the config file utilized by the [Transifex GitHub integration](https://help.transifex.com/en/articles/6265125-github-installation-and-configuration). If you want to automate your software localization pipeline on GitHub, this is likely the tool you should use.

You can refer to [this section](https://help.transifex.com/en/articles/6265125-github-installation-and-configuration#h_94380d9cd8) on how to construct a Transifex YAML configuration file to sync multiple files across different folders.

Hello,

The reason we are using config/.tx is that we need to have different mappings for different files. Android files use an “r“ before the [ISO 3166-1-alpha-2](https://www.iso.org/obp/ui/#iso:pub:PUB500001:en) region (see [https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/resources/providing-resources](https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/resources/providing-resources)). But Fastlane uses no such prefix.

Is there a way to automate config syncs with GitHub Actions maybe? (I am quite certain that we cannot do the multiple mappings using yml).

For pushing the content you can choose between the three options shown below, a PR will be opened when 100% translated/reviewed/proofread is reached.

If you want to test you can setup a custom rule to choose a lower percentage.

But this works only for yaml configurations (as Mylon said), that don’t have a setting we need (custom per-file directory mappings). My question is if a GitHub action can be used to automate via the Transifex CLI.

You can still combine GitHub commands with Transifex CLI commands by using custom routines, such as batch or shell (`.sh`) files.

Each tool is managed separately, so the Transifex CLI doesn’t execute GitHub commands directly as part of the integration. To handle both, you’ll just need to create a small custom routine that orchestrates how and when each command runs.
