Transifex Git Not Working

Hello, recently my GitHub integration is not working. Is there any possible fix?

Hello @AFS,

I am Antonis from the Transifex Customer Success team. I hope you’re well.

Can you share any details about what’s going on with the GitHub integration, like when the issue started, what you’re experiencing, and whether you’re seeing any errors?

When I open the Transifex Git page by clicking ‘manage’ button in the Integration options, the page is stuck in the loading screen like below.

I suspect this is not just a problem of the webpage. Although it was set to auto-sync when translation was completed and it was done in several days ago, the sync was not performed. Currently I can’t even configure it or sync manually.

Hey @AFS,

There aren’t any issues with the GitHub integration currently, so we can rule out any general issues.

Were you the one who set up the GitHub integration, and are you currently logged in with a role that permits you to access the integration (Project Maintainer, Organization Administrator)?

If you do and the integration isn’t loading, please feel free to share a link to your project either here or through a DM so I can take a look.

Yes, I’m the owner of the project and who set up the integration, and here is the link:

Hey @AFS,

Thanks for the link.

I found the issue: your GitHub integration isn’t properly connected. Your project shows it’s not linked to any GitHub organization or repository, which is why the syncing isn’t working.

It appears that it was working before so it’s likely this issue was cause by the access/authorization being revoked somehow, possibly from the GitHub side.

To fix this:

If you can’t access the Manage page, click “Revoke access” and set up the integration from scratch. We have a complete setup guide to walk you through it.

If you can access the Manage page, try clicking the “Authorize” button to reconnect.

Let me know if this resolves the issue or if you run into any other problems.

I’ve clicked “Revoke access” and tried to set up. But I’m stuck at the loading screen again and can’t access the manage page.

As I tried to access the Manage page, I ‘logged in’ to set up, but it’s stuck in the loading screen again and anything including “Authorize” button does not appears.

Hey @AFS,

I tried going through the same process for your project and it works fine on my end. The issue doesn’t seem to come from Transifex.

More than likely, it has to do with the GitHub account or Repo (infinite loading indicates that the integration is unable to retrieve any info from GitHub with the given credentials). A less likely scenario is that this is browser-related. You can try repeating the process in a private window to rule out any extension-related issues.

Since it seems like the integration was working previously, was there any change recently, especially on the GitHub side, that might have affected this?

I’ve revoked access of Transifex App on GitHub when revoking the access on the Integration menu. But in the normal cases, shouldn’t revoking and deleting the access on both sides reset the status?

Update: As I tried to construct the integration with a dummy GitHub repository and dummy Transifex project, my Transifex Git is stuck this time, too. At this moment, I think there is some problem regarding the authentication for my account.

Also, trying to log in by GitHub account prints the such error: ‘client_id’ must be present.

Hi @AFS

This is Carlos from Transifex support, about your question revoking the access will not reset the status of the strings.

We just tried unlinking and linking a repo again and integration is working as expected. Are you still experiencing issues? Have you tried with another github account?

Best regards,
Carlos Olvera

I think the problem is from the GitHub account linking. I’ve unlinked my GitHub account from Transifex and tried to link it again, but I got this page

@colvera Now I’ve tried it with another account, but I can’t seem to log in at the Transifex Git page.
