We are excited to share an improvement to our Contentful integration that makes your automated localization workflows even more robust.
The Problem: The “Missing Asset” Gap
Previously, the automatic import focused primarily on Entries. If you updated an Asset but didn’t update the Entry it was attached to, the Asset wouldn’t trigger a new import into Transifex.
What’s New: Full Automation for Entries & Assets
We’ve updated the logic of the “Automatic import of newly/updated published content” settings.
Now, when these settings are enabled:
- Standalone Asset Sync: If an Asset is published in Contentful but hasn’t been added to an Entry yet, Transifex will detect and import it automatically.
- Independent Asset Updates: If you update an existing Asset that belongs to one or more Entries—even if the Entries themselves remain unchanged—the updated Asset will be triggered for import.
- Unified Logic: You no longer need to “touch” an Entry just to get its associated Assets to sync to Transifex.
How it works
There is no new button to click! If you already have Automatic Import enabled in your Contentful integration settings, this behavior is now active.
- Publish in Contentful: Whether it’s a new Entry or just a stand-alone Asset.
- Automatic Detection: Transifex scans for the “Published” status across both content types.
- Instant Localization: The content (and now all associated media assets) appears in your project for translation immediately.
What this enables
- Complete Context: Translators get access to updated media files the moment they are ready, not just when the text changes.
- Reduced Manual Work: Eliminate the need to manually “Pull” assets or re-save Entries in Contentful just to trigger a sync.
