Hello, Transifex community!

We are excited to announce an important update to our resource updating feature, designed to streamline your localization workflow and provide more control over your translations.

What’s new

We understand the importance of maintaining translated content while updating source strings. With this update, you now have the option to keep your existing translations intact when updating your resource, saving you valuable time.

Here’s how you can take advantage of this new functionality:

  • Updating source content via Transifex User Interface (UI):
    To benefit from the option to preserve existing translations, make sure to enable the “Keep existing translations” option in the UI before uploading the new version of your source file to Transifex. This ensures that your updated source strings retain their existing translations.

  • Updating source content via Transifex API:
    If you prefer updating your resource through the Transifex API, you can achieve the same outcomes. Use the resource_strings_async_uploads endpoint and set the keep_translations parameter to true to keep existing translations.

  • Updating source content via Transifex Go CLI.
    For users who prefer the Transifex Go CLI, you can also leverage this new functionality during your resource updates using the option --keep-translations.
