Hi Transifex Team and Community,
We’re translating the Python documentation into Farsi/Persian using Transifex, and I’m looking to implement a system to recognize our top contributors. My goal is to showcase these contributors on our GitHub page to encourage further participation and potentially promote active translators to reviewer roles within Transifex.
I’ve investigated the Activity Reports API as a potential solution, but I’m encountering a “Permission denied” error (403) with the message “Your plan does not support advanced API features.” I understand that some features are restricted to paid plans, but I’m hoping there might be an exception or alternative approach for open-source projects like ours.
Is there a way for open-source projects to access activity data? We’re primarily interested in tracking translation activity (strings translated, reviewed, etc.) to identify our most active contributors. Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Alireza Shabani (Revisto)
Hi @Revisto
Thanks for contacting writing to us, my name is Carlos from Transifex support team.
At this moment API and reports are only available for our paid plans, however, you don’t need to do a huge upgrade. You can start testing our starter plan and have access to API and other interesting features.
If you want I can contact you with any of our sales representative so they can give you more details and benefits of upgrading your account.
I’m attentive to your comments.
Best regards,
Carlos Olvera
Hi Carlos,
Thanks for the quick reply. I appreciate the offer, but spending $120/month on the starter plan just to access the activity data doesn’t make much sense for an open-source project. It seems a bit odd that this kind of API access, which could really help boost community contributions, isn’t available for free to open-source projects.
Thank you again for your response!
Best regards,
Alireza
Hi Alireza,
We encourage you take a look at our plans and evaluate the benefits of upgrading, you might find other features interesting not only the API access.
In any case, feel free to reach out again if you have any other doubts or issues, we’ll be happy to help.
Best regards,
Carlos Olvera
