Hi all,
I’ve been experimenting with a software program that releases daily puzzles, and it got me thinking about translation workflows. In Transifex, when multiple contributors push updates every day, what’s the best approach to keep everything synchronized without overwriting or losing any changes?
Has anyone run into issues with frequent updates or conflicts in string management? I’m curious if there are strategies or best practices to manage daily changes efficiently, especially when working with multiple languages and contributors.
I am Antonis from the Transifex Customer Success team. I hope you’re well.
If there are many contributors working offline, there’s no good way to sync the changes each contributor is making, because every file upload can mistakenly override changes to the translated content.
The best way to ensure no work gets overwritten is to use the Transifex editor as a common touch-point between your collaborators, where everyone can work on the same content without overwriting, discuss translations, and coordinate on the best way to translate the content.
Using the editor will simplify the string management part since you will only have to maintain a single source of truth that your collaborators will work on instead of each of them pulling their own versions.
This will also avoid situations where you might update the source content while the translator is working on an older version of the source content and uploads translations based on that, causing additional issues.
