Maintaining a unified brand voice across multiple languages can be a challenge—especially when it comes to the small details that define your UI. One of the most common hurdles in AI-driven localization is “style drift,” where the AI fluctuates between sentence case, title case, or all-caps mid-conversation.
To give you more control over your global presentation, we’ve introduced a dedicated Capitalization setting within the Transifex AI Style Guide.
Define Your Formatting Strategy
You can now have more control by locking in a specific formatting logic for the AI to follow across all responses:
- Follow target language conventions: The AI follows the standard linguistic conventions of the destination language (e.g., capitalizing all nouns in German, even if they are lowercase in the source).
- Mirror source capitalization rules: The AI strictly replicates the capitalization used in the original source string. This is the ideal choice for keeping a consistent “branded” look for buttons, tabs, and technical UI elements.
- Use custom capitalization rules: Set a specific instruction to ensure the AI adheres to your unique brand guidelines, regardless of the language.
Tip
Choosing either Target Language Rules or Mirror Source creates a “hard” constraint for the AI. Selecting one of these first two options will overrule any custom instructions you might have previously set in other areas of your AI settings. This ensures your primary formatting choice remains the single source of truth.
Why This Matters
By centralizing your capitalization strategy, you eliminate the need for manual corrections on every string. This ensures that your interface feels professional and cohesive, whether a user is viewing your site in English, Japanese, or French.
