UX: Listing of existing languages is not sorted while reviewing project language requests

Hello,

nearly daily I have to review language requests.
The list of currently available project languages is not sorted. We have over 100 languages, and it is not easy to scroll through an unsorted list to find an existing language.

Hey @rakekniven,

I am Antonis from the Transifex Customer Success team. I hope you’re well!

Thank you for your feedback.

That particular list in the screenshot will display all languages contained in your project in the order they were added, and there isn’t currently another way to sort them.

As a workaround, you can use the project’s language list (before you click “Edit languages”, which you’re able to sort and search through:

Please let me know if this helps!

Hello Mylon,

I know how to get around this issue.

Doing it for years since as we get such a lot unwanted requests. See Usability: People requesting languages instead of joining already existing languages as our main issue.

I filed this topic to make you aware of this unsorted list.
And hopefully you think of make it sorted or adding a sorting feature.

Best regards.

Hey @rakekniven,

I completely understand.

I will relay your feedback to the team so we can ensure we provide a better way to handle this workflow, especially for projects that receive many (sometimes arbitrary) language requests, so you can address them quickly and efficiently.

I’ll collect all the info from both threads and share it with our Product team so that they can address it with a future release. There’s no ETA we can share, but we’re looking at our UI as a whole, so it will most likely be part of a larger update rather than us updating just this specific part of the UI.

Let me know if you have any other feedback related to this workflow that hasn’t been mentioned in either thread, and I will be happy to include it.

We will notify you of any updates here, or you can DM me your email address, and I will include your contact information in the request as well.

I fully agree. An alphabetically sorted list (or a search feature) would make reviewing language requests much faster and more user-friendly.
